The preparation for a classic hot chocolate in a jar is here revisited with the addition of spices. This treat will be perfect if presented directly in Lock-eat food jars, decorated with a beautiful red and gold ribbon and accompanied by a label with the recipe for making the chocolate.
Ingredients for a 20 cl food jar
180 g 70% dark chocolate
200 g brown sugar
140 g bitter cocoa
30 g corn starch
a pinch of vanilla powder
a pinch of star anise
Preparation:
In a bowl, sift the cocoa with the cornstarch; add the sugar, then add the vanilla and star anise. Mix well.
Break up the chocolate and chop it with a mixer intermittently so as not to overheat it, as it could melt. Once ready, add it to the previous mixture and mix well.
Arrange the mixture in the Lock-eat food jars; if it is a gift, don't forget to add some ribbons and accompany with how to prepare the chocolate.
To prepare the hot chocolate, you will need 3 tablespoons of preparation and 150/125 g of milk of your choice. Then place the mixture in a saucepan, add a drop of milk and melt well until it becomes creamy. Gradually add the rest of the milk (150 g for a slightly softer chocolate, 125 g for a thicker one), always stirring.
The chocolate should be cooked on the stove, stirring constantly, until it starts to thicken. When it comes to the boil, turn off the heat and serve, if you like, with meringues or whipped cream for a truly irresistible snack!
